Job Description
Position Summary
Exile Brewing Company is hiring a Marketing and Events Manager to keep our marketing, events, newsletters, project timelines, and partner follow-through running cleanly every week.
This is an execution and operations role. The right person is highly organized, comfortable writing clear customer-facing copy, good with event details, and disciplined about keeping projects moving in Asana.
The role works closely with our Marketing Associate on brand assets and social media, our Event Coordinator on brewpub and private-event operations, our sales team on wholesale events and samplings, and General Manager & CEO on priorities, approvals, and accountability.
What This Role Owns
The Marketing and Events Manager owns the operating rhythm behind marketing and events:
Email newsletters, including writing, scheduling, list/process ownership, Toast sends, Postcard builds, and related approval flow.
Event marketing setup for Squarespace, Google Business Profile, Asana timelines, event listings, reservation launches, and partner follow-up.
Major recurring and seasonal event coordination, including Haunting, SnowGlobe, Run2Exile, music series support, trivia, Iowa State Fair, Iowa Craft Brew Festival, routine samplings, and partner events.
Asana discipline for marketing and events projects: owners, dates, tasks, reminders, and follow-up.
Event and partner relationship tracking, including nonprofit, community, sponsorship, and recurring event contacts.
Wholesale event and sampling support for the sales team.
Customer-facing copy for newsletters, event pages, social event posts, and routine promotional updates.
Coordination with Sam so brand assets, social needs, artwork, sell sheets, and promotional materials are ready on time.
Coordination with Andrew so event marketing/admin setup supports private events, manager shifts, and brewpub operations.
Core Responsibilities
Email and Newsletter Operations
Own the newsletter calendar and execution process.
Write clear, timely newsletter copy for brewpub, event, and project communications.
Manage Toast email sends and Postcard builds.
Maintain list hygiene and recurring send process.
Keep newsletter tasks visible in Asana.
Event Marketing and Operations Support
Maintain marketing/admin setup for recurring and seasonal events.
Keep event pages, Google Business Profile updates, Squarespace listings, and calendars current.
Own reservation launch checklists for Haunting and SnowGlobe.
Support Run2Exile setup with a repeatable SOP and task timeline.
Support Iowa State Fair, Iowa Craft Brew Festival, music series, trivia, routine samplings, and partner events.
Coordinate with Andrew where event marketing intersects with private events, manager shifts, and music bookings.
Project Management and Asana Discipline
Keep marketing and events projects current in Asana.
Assign owners, dates, reminders, and dependencies.
Follow up when tasks stall or owners are unclear.
Duplicate and update prior-year event projects where appropriate.
Escalate project drift or non-use to R.J.
Copywriting and Communication
Write newsletter copy, event copy, social event copy, and routine promotional copy.
Use automation tools where appropriate to speed up first drafts.
Keep copy accurate, clear, and aligned with Exile's tone.
Coordinate with Marketing Associate on final visual/social execution.
Wholesale Events and Samplings
Support sales-side events, samplings, and distributor/retailer event needs.
Coordinate event materials, dates, contacts, and follow-up.
Keep field-sales event needs visible and assigned.
Help make sure the sales team has the right event and promotional support.
Materials, Vendors, and Relationships
Track marketing materials, swag, event supplies, vendor needs, and reorder timelines.
Maintain relationship/contact records for event, nonprofit, sponsor, community, and partner relationships.
Coordinate with Marketing Associate on brand assets and physical marketing materials.
Keep files and templates organized in the correct shared locations.
Required Strengths
Strong organization and follow-through.
Comfortable owning deadlines and holding people accountable without formal authority.
Clear, practical writing for newsletters, events, and social copy.
Event coordination experience or strong hospitality/event instincts.
Comfortable with project-management tools such as Asana.
Able to work across sales, brewpub, marketing, and leadership without dropping details.
Willing to work around event timelines, including occasional evenings or weekends when the event calendar requires it.
Helpful Experience
Brewery, hospitality, restaurant, beverage, event, or entertainment experience.
Email marketing or newsletter experience.
Familiarity with Toast, Squarespace, Google Business Profile, Canva, Postcard, Asana, or similar tools.
Experience coordinating sponsors, nonprofits, vendors, musicians, community partners, or event teams.
Basic comfort editing copy and working with creative assets, even if design work is handled by Sam.
